This piece, likely a uchikake (an outer kimono worn for weddings), is a truly unique and luxurious garment perfect for a bride, a lover of vintage Asian textiles, or as a spectacular decorative piece.
This kimono is made from a beautiful, rich fabric in a soft, creamy ivory. The entire piece is adorned white embroidery. The patterns include chrysanthemums (symbols of longevity and rejuvenation) or peonies (symbols of good fortune and happiness), which trail gorgeously down the front lapels and along the magnificent train.
I have carefully cleaned and restored this, 2 small faint orange marks are still visible but not too obvious when worn.
